BREAKING: Super Sports Equinox Visable Tonight

October 18th is a special day in 2018 as each of the four major U.S. Leagues plays a game tonight.

However, in regards to the NBA, NFL, NHL, and MLB. Tonight also marks a historic night as we can also witness college football and major league soccer.

Tonight is only the second time in sports history that six different leagues hold games with the only other moment this happened coming back in 2009.

Now, I am going to quickly preview each of tonight’s key matchups. Starting with the NBA.

NBA: Lakers vs. Trail Blazers

Lebron James Lakers.jpg
LeBron James makes his debut tonight as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Lakers look completely different compared to just a season ago after signing free agents like LeBron James, Rajon Rondo, JaVale McGee, Lance Stephenson, and Michael Beasley.

However, even with the veteran presence each of the previous members provide, the Lakers have a lot of young potential with Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, and Kyle Kuzma.
Tonight will be a very interesting matchup for the Lakers and watching how everything works out with such a diverse group of players.

The Lakers are looking to snap a 15-game losing streak against the Portland Trail Blazers dating back to March 14th.

Portland, on the other hand, added two low-cost guards with Seth Curry and Nik Stauskas this previous off-season. Both players should be able to bolster the perimeter shooting and add nice depth to the bench behind Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum.

With the Trail Blazers being without Moe Harkless, expect third-year pro Jake Layman to start at the small forward position.

Prediction: Lakers 109 – Trail Blazers 98

NFL: Arizona Cardinals vs. Denver Broncos

David Johnson Cardinals .jpg
An exciting matchup as both teams are struggling heading into tonight. The Denver Broncos are currently riding a four-game losing streak after starting the season undefeated. While the Arizona Cardinals started the season 0-4 before beating the San Francisco 49ers during Week 5.

Both teams are struggling hard against the run this season as they both are allowing over 150 yards per game on the ground.

Denver has a nice combo of rookie running backs with Royce Freeman and Patrick Lindsay, who have combined for 618 yards and four touchdowns.

However, the Broncos have yet to find themselves a passing game with Case Keenum at the helm of the offense with veterans Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders alongside rookie Courtland Sutton.

The Cardinals offense could have a nice showing with David Johnson during tonight’s matchup. The Broncos gave up two straight games to running backs with 200-yards (Isaiah Crowell 219 yards and Todd Gurley 208 yards).

Prediction: Cardinals 31 – Broncos 24

NHL: Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Toronto Maple Leafs

Sidney Crosby Penguins.jpg
Sidney Crosby has yet to find the back of the net so far this season. Could tonight be the night that Crosby finds scores a goal? Or will the Maple Leafs be too much for Crosby offensively?

The Penguins are currently 2-1-2 this season with a majority of points coming from C Evgeni Malkin. Malkin has recorded nine points this season with one goal and eight assists. However, the Penguins leading goal scorer this season is right-wing Phil Kessel, who has four goals so far this season.

However, as the Penguins are currently struggling early on in the season, the Toronto Maple Leafs have looked highly successful offensively. Within the last three games, the Maple Leafs walk away with 5-3, 4-2, and 4-1 victories while opening up the season with a 6-1-0 record.

Auston Matthews has been a dominant force for the Maple Leafs offense this season. Through the seven games this season, Matthews has been able to record 16 points because of 10 goals and six assists.

Prediction: Maple Leafs 5 – Penguins 3

MLB: Boston Red Sox vs. Houston Astros

Verlander Astros.jpg
On the mound for the Astros is the right-handed ace, Justin Verlander.

Now the Astros are banking on not only a strong performance from Verlander but also need some runs from players like Altuve, Bregman, and Gonzalez to back it up.

Verlander is 1-0 this series with a 3.00 ERA and six strikeouts while Price has not yet gotten a win or loss but possess a 7.71 ERA with four strikeouts.

The Red Sox currently lead the series 3-1 after back-to-back victories at Minute Maid Park. If the Red Sox win tonight they advance to the World Series but if the Astros pull off the victory the series heads to Game 6 in Boston.

Against Justin Verlander, Boston outfielder JD Martinez has gone 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a strikeout although, throughout the postseason, Martinez is 3-for-15 with just two RBIs.

Against David Price, Astros third baseman Alex Bregman is an impressive 3-for-7 with two RBIs and a strikeout. However, during the postseason, Bregman is 2-for-11 with an RBI.

Prediction: Astros 5 – Red Sox 3

NCAA Football: Stanford vs. Arizona State

Bryce Love Stanford.jpg
Stanford has been led this season by both running back Bryce Love and quarterback K.J. Costello. Although Stanford is currently riding a two-game losing streak, the team has been solid all season long beside the previous two games. Stanford, currently unranked, was at No. 7 in the nation prior to there loss against Notre Dame.

Bryce Love has put together 327 yards and three touchdowns on 76 carries, while Costello has thrown from 1,611 yards and 12 touchdowns this year. The team has a lot of talent offensively and should be able to bounce back into the Top 25 before the season ends.

On the other hand, Arizona State is currently 3-3 this season. After starting the season 2-0, the Sun Devils found themselves within the Top 25 following their victory against Michigan State. However, the Sun Devils went on to lose the next two matchups and dropped out of the Top 25.

Wide receiver N’Keal Harry has been a serious offensive weapon this season and will continue to excel down the stretch. With 481 receiving yards and five touchdowns, Harry has been a true target each and every week. His skill set and build place him in a category unlike any we have seen in previous years.

Prediction: Stanford 24 – Arizona State 28
