Sunday, September 23rd the Milwaukee Brewers continue their journey for a postseason berth with a game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The Brewers are currently 87-66 which places them in second place within the central division of the national league. While the Cubs are two games behind the Brewers, the club is currently three games up within the wild card standings.
The Pirates ride a 77-74 record which has them pegged in fourth place in the central division standings within the national league. While the Pirates are 11 games back within the division the club has proven themselves throughout the season as a young team quickly on the rise.
Within the last 10 games, the Brewers are 6-4 with a one-game winning streak while the Pirates are 7-3 with a five-game winning streak.

Taking the mound for the Brewers is left-handed pitcher Wade Miley.

The Brewers have two of the most impressive players offensively in Jesus Aguilar and Christian Yelich.

Aguilar participated in the latest home run derby because of his natural power and this season, Aguilar has hit 33 home runs. Alongside his home run total, Aguilar has also recorded 103 RBIs this season.
Outfielder Christian Yelich is chasing the MVP award this season. Currently, Yelich is the only player within the league to hit for the cycle twice against the same team in a single season. Yelich is batting .319 which league the Brewers in the batting average category. Alongside an impressive batting average on the season, Yelich has accumulated 31 home runs and 93 RBIs.
On the mound for the Pirates is right-handed pitcher Joe Musgrove.
Musgrove is currently 6-9 on the season with a 4.06 ERA. Throughout the season, Musgrove has pitched 115.1 innings while successfully striking out a total of 100 batters.
Musgrove last pitched on September 17th against the Kansas City Royals in which he pitched six innings, striking out four batters and gave up five runs on eight hits.
Both left fielder Corey Dickerson and right fielder Gregory Polanco have had impressive seasons for the Pirates offensively.
