On Thursday night, the battle for the AL East continues as the Boston Red Sox take on the New York Yankees for the third and final game of the series.
The Red Sox have had to delay their celebration for a bit after losing the first game against the Yankees 3-2 and then got blown out 10-1 during game two.
On Wednesday night, the New York Yankees got an outstanding performance from first baseman Luke Voit. Voit finished the game 4-for-4 with four runs scored and three RBIs in the Yankees 10-1 victory.
Wednesday night also marked the return of Aaron Judge into the starting line-up. Judge hasn’t made his first appearance in the starting lineup since July 26th, which was the day Judge had been diagnosed with a broken wrist.
However, Judge went 0-for-4 in his return but will hopefully obtain enough offensive opportunities on Thursday night.
The Boston Red Sox are currently 103-49 which places them 9.5 games ahead of the New York Yankees who are currently 93-58. The Red Sox were the first time to clinch a playoff position but have not yet clinched the division.
