Gomes’ grand slam helps Indians rally past Royals, 6-4

Yonder Alonso finished 3-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI, Francisco Lindor finished 2-for-4 with a run scored to lead the Cleveland Indians (47-37) over the Kansas City Royals (25-60), 6-4, at Kauffman Stadium on Tuesday Night.

Right-handed pitcher Shane Bieber earned the win, pitching six innings, striking out two batters while giving up four runs on nine hits for the Indians. Cody Allen earned the save, pitching one inning, striking out one batter while giving up two hits for the Indians.

Yan Gomes finished 1-for-5 with four RBIs and a run scored because of a grand slam in the 6th inning for the Indians. Leading the Royals offensively was Lucas Duda, who finished 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs.

The Cleveland Indians scored six runs, on 11 hits with a committed error and the Kansas City Chiefs scored four runs, on 12 hits with a committed error.
