Padres Beat Cardinals, Lock Up Fifth Straight Series Win

Manuel Margot went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored while Eric Hosmer finished the game 2-for-4 to lead the San Diego Padres (33-37) over the St. Louis Cardinals (36-30), 4-2, at Busch Stadium on Wednesday, June 13th.

Left-handed pitcher Eric Lauer pitched five innings, striking out two batters and giving up two runs on eight hits for the Padres. Brad Hand received the save, pitching just one inning while not giving up a hit or a run.

Cory Spangenburg went 2-for-4 with a run scored for the Padres. Leading the Cardinals offensively was Marcell Ozuna, who finished the game 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored. Ozuna.jpg

The Padres scored four runs on 10 hits while the Cardinals scored two runs on eight hits.
