Votto 3B Follows Hamilton’s Rundown Magic, Reds Top Royals

Joey Votto went 1-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored while Tucker Barnhart finished 2-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI to lead the Cincinnati Reds (24-43) over the Kansas City Royals (22-45), 5-1, at Kauffman Stadium on Tuesday, June 12th.

Right-handed pitcher Stephen Romano pitched eight innings, striking out two batters and allowing one run on four hits for the Reds. David Hernandez received the win, pitched one inning and striking out two batters for the Reds.

Scott Schebler finished the game 2-for-5 with a run scored for the Reds. Leading the Royals offensively was Whit Merrifield, who finished the game 2-for-4.

The Reds scored five runs, on eight hits with an error while the Royals scored one run, on four hits with an error.
